He threw 133 innings for BCMBL-Royals last season.

The one already in the db and on the Royals:
Name - Hisanori Takahashi DOB 4/2/1975 B/T - L/L
Weird part is this is his add post:
Ken Takahashi - RP Mets Org. Needs to be created
6'0/190 DOB 4/16/1969 Age 40 Left/Left
Don't know how he wound up with the info that is in the DB. Maybe the Royals can explain.

Yeah, but the one that the Royals originaly *signed and created* was Ken: bcmbladmin.proboards.com/index.cg....242&page=1#6408I may be wrong, but it looks like the Royals were given the *wrong* Takahashi . . . Is Hisanori grandfathered in, then, as a Royal, even though it was Ken that the Royals created? TT

Hisanori signed with the Mets on 2/11/10, so according to our rules was not available until this year draft?
If that is true, I'm gussing when a DB got changed that Hisanori was put on K.C. intead of "Ken" who K.C. signed the previous year 5/10/09?
It may be we all forgot that Hisanori would not be available until this year, and he got to pitch in "Ken's" spot?

I think JT is right. When last year's DB got put in, Ken lost his sim and should have become a 1- player while Hisanori got his first sim.

It may be that the Royals received the incorrect Takahashi, but I have to believe that it's well past the statute of limitations here. He pitched for KC for an entire season. I don't see how KC will simply lose the player now. 29 Other GM's had a year to catch this.
It looks like an administrative blunder. I'm open to opinions in a new thread on how to handle this.

Tony & Everyone....I opened a thread here so we don't blow up the league signing thread for the Cardinals - and also have a record in league discussion for future reference - bcmbladmin.proboards.com/index.cg....lay&thread=2259Feel free to copy and paste comments from this thread there, and I will delete them later from this thread.

Is Marc Kroon eligible to sign? Former major leaguer who spent some years in Japan, he just signed a minor league deal w/ the SF Giants: mdn.mainichi.jp/mdnnews/sports/news/20110127p2g00m0sp069000c.htmlIf so, I'd like to create him: Born: April 2, 1973 B: R T: R And drop Zach Philips. I would assume, normally, that he wouldn't be eligible, but last year around this time I know Colby Lewis was signed (or maybe was in the post-Rule 5 free agent draft). So, if there's gray areas, I figure it's worth a shot. If not, no problem, Kroon is draft eligible next year, or goes on waivers, etc. Thanks, TT

I didn't realize Kroon came from overseas. Technically, he should be draft eligible for next year...ala Pedro Feliciano rule.
Maybe we need to reevaluate the cut off date to be a hard date...such as March 1? I'd hate for someone to get a projection, but not be used... as evident with Takahashi.

Maybe we need to reevaluate the cut off date to be a hard date...such as March 1? I'd hate for someone to get a projection, but not be used... as evident with Takahashi. Obviously there is a rule in place (that I don't know), so of course I'm going to give my opinion on the subject. IMO, the BCMBL rule 'should be' - once you have been drafted or signed in America in real life, leave, come back, you should not have to be 'drafted' in the BCMBL, even if it's 10 years later. Kroon was drafted in the 2nd round in 1991 by the Mets, and Pedro Feliciano was drafted in the 31st round in 1995 by the Dodgers. These guys should just be allowed to be signed "first come, first serve". This of course is different than the International players who are signing their first contract in America, like a Takahashi etc., who our system works fine for (if we remember, I have a small penis). Now, if the league as a whole did not like "first come, first serve", then I would say to still allow the signings of "returning players" to be posted, and after 24 hours that team gets that player. "Unless", in that 24 hours someone else wants a chance at a "returning player", then that 2nd team can post on that thread their request said player go through normal waivers. I'm not saying change the rule (as I don't know it anyway) just throwing out my 2 cents on the "returning players" (Kroon, Feliciano in the past, etc.).

The rule was basically, any player who signs after the draft is over, has to enter the following years draft. It's a basic rule, and has worked fine, but most rules are up for modification if it makes sense.
