Can I get a ruling on Belisario? He's on the restricted list for violating the drug policy but he's not on a DL. I can't remember if we treat drug restricted list different from regular restricted list because typically I think guys on the restricted list are still eligible to play. Is he eligible to play now or does he have to get reinstated by his major league team.

I remember for sure that Carlos Zambrano was allowed to play in the BCMBL when he was suspended for a while a few years ago, if that's a precedent. Also, Manny Ramirez, if he's on a BCMBL team, seems like he would be allowed to play under this previous ruling.

Seems to me that we were handling drug suspension different than regular restricted list stuff (paternity, death in the family, etc.) but I don't quite recall.

Major suspensions, such as drug violations are not eligible.
Minor suspensions, such as getting in a fight, etc... are not deactivated.
Belisario would be eligible to play on Friday - not sure how he's playing minor league games if he's on a drug suspension - even if it is a "rehab" assignment.

He's playing in the minors now. But I forgot we were a couple weeks behind. Shit. As of yesterday, Baseball-reference had him at two games played in 2012. I'll leave him in the minors until May 29 in the league. Sound like a plan? Or you can DL him and I'll remind you on the 29th to activate him.
