2011 DRAFT GUIDELINES
December 1st you may begin drafting. Draft on the board under the appropriate Round on the message board. Just open the draft tab for the corresponding round and reply w/ your pick. An Admin will modify the original post to reflects the picks made that round.
There will be a 24 hour time limit on all draft picks. If the pick was made after 8 pm EST, then the clock doesn't start ticking until 8 am EST the following morning. Nighttime hours do count during the 1st round. After the 1st round, you will still have a 24 hour time limit but the clock will continue to run at night. Clock gets tolled during Christmas and New Years.
If you miss your pick, the next team will be on the clock. You may still pick later but it will be subject to any other picks that were made before your late pick. Priority will be determined by post time.
Have some courtesy! If you know your pick is coming and you won't be around, let someone know. Send in a list, have someone else pick for you, etc.
These drafts always get annoying. Someone takes forever, someone bitches about it, the other guy fights back, rinse, repeat.
Treat everyone w/ respect. If your picks up, don't sit on your thumb. Make it. If someone else is taking a while, show some restraint and patience.
It's impossible to police but I ask that each of you, after you make your pick, email or IM the person due up to let them know it is there turn. This small effort could save a ton of time.
Also, take one last chance to check the draft board to make sure all your picks are in place.
TRADING DRAFT PICKS
Trading draft picks is allowed up until the point that you are on the clock. Once it is officially your turn you are no longer allowed to trade your draft pick and must make your selection.
ROSTER EXPANSION
Rosters will expand to 55 upon commencement of the draft and will remain at 55 during the duration of the draft. Following the draft, Admin will announce a date and time which you must then return your roster to 50. Any picks that result a roster exceeding 55 must be dealt with as normal (ie you sign one you must drop one).
PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
Anybody who was drafted during the June Rule 4 Draft and anyone who has signed a professional contract since the end of last year's BCMBL Draft (March 1, 2011). You may draft someone who you anticipate signing a contract this winter but has not as of the pick. The deadline for a player to sign their real contract is March 1, 2012 at noon EST. If a player you draft has not signed his professional contract by the above date you forfeit that pick and the player becomes a free agent ineligible to be signed until the next year's draft.
