Welcome to the NL West ... according to this set of "power rankings" the Padres are 12th in the BCMBL, 7th in the National League -- but 4th in the division. Apparently even the wild card is a long shot ... ah well ...

Orioles, Rays, White Sox & Marlins will most likely be higher for the opening day rankings.
I believe these are based off simming 10 seasons off the season disc.

I took the season disk, let the computer generate everyones lineups(including mine), ran 10 seasons. Took the best and worst season from each team and averaged the other 8 seasons. If two teams ended up with the same ammount of average wins, i then went to the best season for the tie breaker. Seattle actually ended up with the 4th most wins, but seeing they are reigning World Series Champs, i put them at the top of the list.

Remember what the highest win total was from any of the seasons?
I'm curious to see if anyone approaches 120 wins.

NL Champs should probably be a little higher than 7. In fact, the two NL teams ranked higher were both bumped in the NLDS. The #2 ranked Giants were bumped by the aforementioned Reds.
As was I in the NLCS....stupid reds...

I know that i wasn't the Gm at the time that the Reds were winning and went into the World Series last year... But I'm very proud of the team that i have rebuilt and i will happily sit at the 7th seat ranking unless everyone thinks i should be higher.

This is strictly winter rankings.....preseason rankings...(due around opening day) will reflect last years playoff teams.
The Reds are a completely different team than they were in the WS...so 7th is pretty favorable if you ask me.

25th? Ouch. Well you can pencil me in for most improved before the season starts.
I have only been back for a week and have added matsui giving me what should be the highest rated double play duo in the league when paired with Hu. Throw in the glove of Rolen and the infield D will be solid.
I drafted Fukudome in the rookie draft and plan on batting him leadoff and playing him in RF. The early projections I have seen from Pecota and other forcasters have him hitting in the .290/.390/.460 range. He was something like a 4 time GG winner over in Japan and has a cannon arm. He won't be the best at anything, but he is going to be good at everything.
I have also brought in 2 solid bullpen arms since returning. This should give me 6 solid bullpen arms. You sure won't want to fall behind when playing me. Of course scoring might be a problem for me. Depends on the projections of Delgado and Rolen.

Everett and Cano might have something to say about that. And don't forget to remind yourself that you practically gave Andruw Jones away; that'll stop you from getting hurt from patting yourself on the back.

Everett and Cano is nice.
I'm sorry to hear you think I gave away Jones. The fact that he hit .222/.311/.413 made it a little tougher to move him. I thought about holding on to him and eating the bad projection next year, but since he is going to be 31 and playing in LA I decided it was time to move him.
I'm think Carlos Gonzalez was a good pull. He is still a prospect, but its not like he is headed to the midwest league. He has a chance to earn a spot on the A's this spring. There is also rumblings Carlos may be headed back to CF.

Agreed, I think Gonzalez is going to be a good player plus he got back Seay and Qualls. I picked up Jones more because he was RH plus played GG CF. Crain could offset the loss of those 2 arms if he comes back from Labrum surgery this year. He still has the stuff to be a very good setup man.

Well I'm pretty excited to see my team at 8. I still need a 1B, and would love to add another dependable SP after Haren, Zito and Westbrook. Kyle Snyder & Jorge Sosa just don't make me feel all that confident.

these rankings are based off simming games. there will be an official ranking that takes into account farm system, strength of divisions, GM history of having successful teams, etc....that'll be released for opening day.
