Wasn’t Evan Marshall on the ZIPS that was just released today? Shouldn’t he be placed on waivers for 48 hours? Or can you still add a player just hours before the ZIPS release for that team on any day? Sorry, for all the questions, I’m still pretty new.

Do we even know what ZIPS is coming next? I had Marshall on my waiver list but didn't get him then - just decided to gamble on him getting a good projection over a prospect that is far away.

Dan Szymborski tweets a preview the day before each ZIPS release. Marshall was listed as the second relief pitcher. If you’re allowed to add them, no worries, I just didn’t know what the rule on that was.

If you’re allowed to add them, no worries, I just didn’t know what the rule on that was. I see. Does the preview tell what their projections are? Not full projections, just projected WAR. Here’s the White Sox preview tweet: Again, I’m not trying to say you are wrong in adding Marshall if the rule is that they’re not on waivers until the full ZIPS release. I wouldn’t have used my high waiver claim on Marshall anyway, I learned from my mistakes from my first ZIPS waivers last year. I have far more needs for my team before I can possibly contend. Last year I posted my first ZIPS waiver claim on the message board rather than emailing it in. (Rookie move) I’m just trying to better understand the rules for myself in the future.

No problem - I'm not offended or worried about it. Looks like the preview is the same diamond thing posted on Fangraphs. I don't really understand his reliever listings, because they don't seem to be ordered by WAR or by ERA+, but I suppose higher on the list is generally better.

Technically, Marshall should be on ZiPS waivers. I had thought the signing happened before the release of the projection.

It did, but apparently there is some sort of "preview" on Twitter. The preview doesn't give details of projections, though. It's as shown above in that little graphic.

1. Dan Szymborski posted the preview graphic of the White Sox ZiPS on Twitter yesterday. 2. Twins signed Evan Marshall 8 hours ago. 3. Dan Szymborski published full White Sox ZiPS 4 hours ago.
The Twins did sign Evan Marshall before the full ZiPS was published. I was just asking if we can sign players from the White Sox on the morning of a day when the White Sox ZiPS is being published later that day. I wasn't sure if the team's players get locked when we know their ZiPS is about to be published, or at exactly the time they get published. Sorry, I thought everyone knew Szymborski tweeted a ZiPS preview the day prior.

You're right, they are not sorted by WAR, I thought they were. So the fact that Marshall is the second RP listed does not mean anything. Sorry for causing more confusion than was necessary.

No problem - I would be interested to find out how they ARE sorted, if they even are sorted. I haven't been able to figure out any criteria by which they are being sorted. I know that for the Yankees, Chad Green would definitely be the 2nd best reliever by projection, yet he is listed 4th.

Twins will release franchise icon Evan Longoria Sign Jacob Amaya - SS, LAD Longoria was part of 4 Twins Championship teams, including what I am guessing may be the best playoff performance ever in the BCMBL in 2017, in which he hit 418/467/927 in 16 games including 6 doubles and 6 HR between the ALCS and World Series that year.

Twins will release franchise icon Evan Longoria Sign Jacob Amaya - SS, LAD processed It's always sad with Pujols, Wright, etc get dropped. It's also amazing to be involved with the league for so long that you are here to see a guy get drafted, become a superstar and then eventually get released/retired.
