Wait, so Marte is released even though the player I tried to sign wasn't available ? Has that been normal procedure ?

Braddock is a Philly. The only P I see in the DB is Roberto Hernandez, Marte is released. Based on this post I assumed he was available.

I can see the point, however, that Rangers lost his guy without getting who he was after. Here's how I'd remedy this. 1) Transactions should be processed completely or not at all. If a GM's signing is voided the released player should be returned. 2) Rangers should get a stern look for not reading posts until I'd made it known I'd sign Marte once he passed through waivers. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) 3) Marte should be returned to Texas (and by default of #1 Chavez should be returned to Colorado). 4) In this instance, Marte should be treated like a Rule V pick. If Texas chooses to release him again, Colorado should be able to sign him without loosing waiver position. Basically, Colorado should get "first dibs" on him, if he's available again. That's just my suggestions. Its not really a huge deal, just an honest mistake.

Right now TEX has 50 players, so not sure how that happened if they weren't expecting to lose Marte. Did they have 51 players before that move?
Anyway, if TEX wants Marte back, they will have to release someone else. If so, COL will get Chavez back.
The ball is in your court, TEX.

Twins, why you giving me a hard time ? I have never had 50 players, I have released a player when I signed a player. Anyway, the Rockies can have Marte.
I was asking a question of whether or not that was normal procedure, because it didn't seem to be previously in similar situations.

The problem with my roster is when I tried to sign Robert Hernandez of the Cubs, admin states that they only see Roberto hernandez. I posted that Robert Hernandez was picked up by Tampa Bay. My mistake. Then I tried Tejada, but he was listed under a previous first name, so I didn't get him, then I picke up Cordier. Roberto Hernandez is still on my roster and should not be.
Rockies , I got no problem with you picking him up, I hope he does well.
The Rangers release Roberto Hernandez.
Thanks.

texas,
Well, you had 50 players still even after Marte was gone, so I was trying to figure out how that happened. I wasn't trying to give you a hard time.
I didn't realize that you had been given Roberto Hernandez....

Twins, no problem, until I looked I didn't realize I had Hernandez either. The past week I haven't been able to look at my team much due to work

Sorry for the late admin reply guys, John and I have both been traveling/busy, Dave's been nice enough to do the simming and roster stuff for a little while. I pretty much agree with all of this that the Rockies said above. 1st things 1st. Texas, do you actually want Marte back or were you more or less just asking for clarification on the process? If just asking how things are done, I'd agree 100% with above and I think that's pretty much how its done. Might have just been a mistake for dropping him. Either way, I definitely think its most fair that if a roster pickup fails then the subsequent waiver drop should fails as well. So, if you want Marte back then we can just reverse all the related roster moves, give Marte back to Texas and give Colorado 1st dips next time he becomes available. If you don't, we can just leave the rosters as they are. Up to Col and Tex pretty much.

Just looking for clarification. If I am away from my computer at home, I don't have access to the DMB database, so occasionally, looking at the threads, I , or any other GM, may miss a signing or release, so I wanted to be sure that was the case: that a team does not lose a player if it makes an attempt to sign a player not available.
In this case, the Rockies can have Marte.
For the Rangers, 43 yr old Roberto Hernandez needs to be released, as it was my intent to previously sign 19 year old Robert Hernandez, who was already signed by the Rays .
Thanks.
