Can you believe how slow the market has been? I think the Mets might be able to snatch up Joe Beimel on a reasonable deal if they act soon.

Although the Mets won't admit it, their greatest need right now is LHP. Feliciano is a good specialist option, but after dealing Scott Schoenweiss, and Oliver Perez's free agency, the only other LH option that they have is Jon Niese, who I don't see as a pen option.
Utley, Howard, Ibanez, Jenkins, Stairs, etc, should be enough reason to add a lefty starter and a lefty reliever.
On an interesting note, Billy Wagner is ahead of schedule and could possibly return in August. Wagner-Putz-K*Rod...If only they could get to the 7th inning with a lead.
As erratic as Oliver Perez is, he pitches well against the Phillies & Braves, and that can't be overlooked.
